The study also suggested that the water and alcohol that makes up a beer, increases the flow of urine thereby reducing the chance of a kidney stone from developing. Even more, alcohol promotes the excretion of calcium which is one of the major constituents that lead to the formation of kidney stones. 

2. Beer protects your heart

New research from the University of Scranton, located in Pennsylvania discovered that stouts, as well as other alcoholic beverages like dark ales, can help to reduce the chance a heart attack. 

 Drinking beer also helps to reduce the chances of Atherosclerosis, which is a condition where cholesterol and other substances clog up the arteries.

But there is a line here; if you drink too much you will experience the opposite of the result. Your bones will become weakened and vulnerable to fracture. 

4. Beer decreases the chances of you having diabetes.

A study conducted in Harvard school of public health that involved about 38,000 middle aged men shows that the alcoholic content in beer leads to an increase in insulin sensitivity which will ultimately help to prevent diabetes. Even more, beer is also an excellent source of fiber, which is important especially when it comes to controlling sugar levels in the body. 

In all, beer plays a very important role in our health, but the key to enjoying some of the benefits beer is to take it in moderation.
